New Salsa Band:
West Coast
salsa singing celebrity Al Gonzalez, the former lead singer of the
popular Johnny Polanco band, has formed his own band. The new band is called
Salsa Caliente, debuting with a series of songs, in tribute to Hector Lavoe.
With the new Lavoe movie coming out the timing appears to be great!

From New York, brothers Jose “Juicy” Jusino and Eric Velez have issued
their “Huracan”. Also, Edwin Pabon, out of Boston, has
issued his latest release “Solo un Tiempo”.
Patato Valdez shakes up Los Angeles!
Conga Master Carlos
“Patato” Valdez recently headlined the greatest FREE concert goldmine in years,
at the California Watercourt Plaza in downtown L.A. Also featured were Francisco
Aguabella and Milton Cardones. The packed Plaza had an impressive audience of
salsa regulars to a huge amount of toe-tapping, groovy, funky, Afro Caribbean,
Latin Jazz, Cuban sound fans. The venue was labeled “Conga Masters”.
